I have witnessed many bikers on that road coming out of nowhere with their lights off (at least i cant see any lights may be because i am moving perpendicular to them)
Secondly, the fast lane has lot of debris laying around so those who rarely use kashmir highway are not aware and hitting or while trying to avoid hitting that debris can cause accidents. Almost every1 there is going at 100kmph and one false move, intentional or unintentional can lead to bad outcome. I use it daily and still the debris on fast lane cannot be seen unless you are really close (no road lighting + high beams coming from opposite side)
2 weeks ago an uncle with his city was waving hand, i stopped and he told me that he hit stones on fast lane and tyre went flat. He jacked up the car and removed the tyre but now he was unable to put spare back in. reason was that he placed the jack under the body (where fender ends) instead of the reinforced sheet. So the fender got bent in the process and even though the jack was fully open, the car was still not high enough for new tyre to fit in. So i brought my own jack and placed in where it was supposed to be, changed the tyre and he was good to go. He was coming from Lahore so i gave him some precautionary tips regarding kashmir highway, tyre changing, and to test if car is moving fine after being hit.
All those who travel to kashmir highway. Use middle or left lane and keep speed at max 80-90 there are a lot of bikers/people/animals crossing it. Newly built road is tempting but it comes at a price
Drive safe!
