Sir mera aankhoun daekha haal hai... That car was covered and parked at my home till the time negotiations with the seller were being done.
There were no Stamp papers. That is what I am saying; we need to have proper documentation done while purchasing or selling a car. Usually we get a transfer letter signed by the previous owner and leave the buyer's section empty. The buyer keeps the original transfer paper whereas the seller keeps a copy and that's it. We should have proper legal documentation which most of the people ignore just to save one trip to "Kecheri".
Lodging an FIR is very risky in Pakistan even if you have had a robbery in your own home. Trust me! But then, there are people who know how to deal with such "special" cases.
FIR can goes like this, I was about to sell the car to xyz and therefore I bought a Transfer Letter which I signed. I was about to get it signed by the buyer but the car was stolen before that along with the documents.
Now even the original buyer have the documents, it would be of little use as the authenticity of documents have already been reduced by mentioning them in the FIR. Plus come on! It's Pakistan's Police. Give a little share to them and they'll take care of every "do number" thing...
