Technically there is no such document as international driving license. The documents correct name is international driving permit. Every country has its own rules regarding international driving permits. At best it is the English translation copy of your original driving license. No GCC country excepts any driving license or permit from Pakistan. Even though these countries are signatories of the international conventions on traffic rules but situation on the ground is some times different. So it is better to check the applicability/utility of IDP before travelling to the country of your destination. Most of the times if Pakistani IDP is acceptable in a foreign country then your original license is also as good (it should be in English.) The same licensing authority which has issued your original license is authorized to issue you an IDP. IDP's are valid for one year usually and have about the same fees as one year fee for normal license. You need to attach copy of your passport with the valid visa to the country where you are planning to travel apart from copies of your CNIC, driving license, photos, tickets. Regards,
