Ofcourse Civic is comfortable and better in performance.
City only takes the lead in fuel economy.

The interior scheme of 03~06 Civic and 03~05 City is almost the same.
The facelifted City that was introduced in 2006 was having different colour cloth on its door panels and it was having a 3-spoke steering wheel.
No other major difference in the interior.

Newer is always better, i have found that City IDSI is quite a rugged car compared to Civic, on top of that 3 years newer if for the same price then go for City.
But keep in mind you find a good well looked-after car because Vario needs transmission oil change at short intervals.
I know a few people who have sold their Civics and bought IDSI shitty

you ll hardly find a Civic 2003 - 2005 in rural Sindh, if you see any you ll definetly notice the shields under the engine usually hanging
