A bit off topic since there is a bit of discussion going on related to safety, i'd like to add even with air bags there are certain guidelines that should be followed.
The funniest thing i see is very small children standing on floor ahead of front seat almost touching the wind screen and driver driving like there is no tomorrow.

Airbags are safer and more effective when used properly. The following are recommendations from Safercar.gov, a consumer resource provided by the U.S. federal government:
Wear seat belts at all times
Sit at least 10 inches back from the hub of the steering wheel
Aim the airbag at your chest, not at your head
Transport children (1 to 13 years old) seat-belted in child safety seats, booster seats or safety belts suitable to their age and size
Transport children in the back seat whenever possible
Transport children in the front seat only when absolutely necessary and only with the seat pushed as far back as it can go and the airbag turned off, if possible
Never transport a child under one year old in the front seat of a vehicle
