This shop was near the Karachi zoo on the return loop coming from shoemarket, the car was black in colour, the engine was locked solid and never rebuilt ever since - the car had broken lights (obviously), rotten seats, rotten tires, dents all around, misaligned engine hatch, missing door cards and nothing to identify it as a porsche - all the mechanics around and in the shop called it kachwa foxy. I was picking up a DIN battery from across the junction when upon talking to the owner of the battery shop I got to know of this car. - They must have been thrown off by the similarities to VW and the VW badges most of its parts must have carried.
just like you have them call you for classic old cars and parts - I also had them call me for unusual stuff too, I got called for a golf mk2 that they were about to cut, - it was a beige LHD Golf Country syncro - completely rusted to bits, some windows broken, no engine (broken case transmission in the interior, rear diff missing, completely rotten interior and even rubber - passed it as it was useless. it had been parked in an appt complex on seaview for about 7 or 8 years. I only got the lone remaining quarter glass.
A real sad and funny bit was when I discovered 2 flat 6 porsche engines that were sacrificed (broken at the port) lying in a shershah godown - as they were useless with no buyers - the guys were busy with destruction tools for selling by weight.
