Meter reversing, accidental, High cost of parts, High fuel consumption, High price for Passo 2010+ and Vitz 2010+ good grades, Even 30000 km is high mileage for someone looking for new vehicle, Being old high insurance cost or low recovery in case of loss, Less mechanic and electrician available (High cost of labor).
Being said that, What I am suggesting is to own a JDM one has to compromise above things. Build quality of Wagon R is good, better than cultus and alto anyday, comparable to swift.
Another point is none of the haters here owned it or carefully driven it, who ever owned it or test driven it never dislike its drive, ac, engine noise, suspension, seating position, inner space, great mileage. Nevertheless it should have ABS, electronic side mirrors and all four power windows. It won't be difficult for Pak suzuki to add all these in 50k.
Still I am not defending Wagon R and suggesting everyone to have it, I am sharing my experience of decision making and going for Wagon R. It is giving me 15-16 km/l with 60 AC all the time in Karachi city traffic and that is average, approx 3800 km on odo, still to have it first oil change. If I opted for Vitz 2008-09 (same budget car), it would best give me 10-11 km/l, now my running is 1500 km per month.
Vitz fuel cost @ 10km/l
(1500 * 12)/10 * 108.3 = Rs. 194940/-
Wagon R cost @15km/l
(1500 * 12)/15 * 108.3 = Rs. 129960/-
Cost Diff = 194940 - 129960 = Rs. 64980/anum
Now people here say that Vitz give 12 km/l, may be it gives this mileage but that would be best not average, If I choose best figure for Wagon R in city I would have calculated mileage with 17 km/l.
