    @m_waqas
    I don't think this pic is making fun of Kimi in any way. The whole theme behind is to show which teams and drivers are to be watched and thats what this pic is showing all the top 4 teams(Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and RedBull) are represented by both their drivers. Michal, Rosberg, Massa, Alonso, Hamilton, Button and Webber and Vettel in different characters of Lord of the Rings and Kimi is representing Lotus Renault as he is the only driver who will followed closely through out the season. Bernie is also present as the evil master of F1.

    Now tell me would you like to see Kimi holding a sword instead of Magnum, seriously.

    Top Ten F1 Drivers of 2011

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - -348867

    The 2011 F1 season is in the books. While it may have lacked the thrills of 2010, this season was highly entertaining, to say the least. With 5 former world champions in the fray, several inside battles were fought as tempers frayed many a time. Sebastian Vettel might have successfully defended his F1 world championship, however apart from him, there were several other drivers who were impressive this season. Here is a list of the top 10 F1 drivers of the 2011 season. This list is on the basis of their world championship points, overtaking moves, qualifying performance, podium finishes, penalties received, fastest laps and consistency.

    10. Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x209xkamui 2011 300x209q9d7bd4pagespeedicwuwjwTVEN5

    The Japanese people may have had a disastrous year, but Kamui Kobayashi did his best to keep his countrymen cheerful through his exploits on the racetrack. The Sauber driver finished a whopping 9 times in the top 10, which is much better than his rivals in Toro Rosso and Lotus Renault. His 5th place finish at Monaco was one of the best drives in his short, yet illustrious career. He also dominated his teammate Sergio Perez, both in qualifying sessions and races.

    9. Paul di Resta (Sahara Force India)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x197xpaul 2011 300x197q9d7bd4pagespeedicfxMoWCFe3x

    You might have noticed that Paul di Resta’s stats are worse than Kamui Kobayashi. Yet di Resta is the 9th best F1 driver of the year for a simple reason. He is a rookie while Kobayashi is a veteran by F1 standards. Paul showed his skills through brilliant performances in qualifying sessions, in which sometimes he bettered his teammate Adrian Sutil too! The young Scot, who debuted in F1 this year, has done the most number of laps this year among all 24 drivers. This shows his poise and control over the car. These are astonishing figures for a rookie and hence he has made it to the top 10.

    8. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x209xnico 2011 300x209q9d7bd4pagespeedic5JYSP19ruy
    Unlike his illustrious teammate Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg has had an impressive season and has consistently been among the points. The German driver started within the first five rows of the grid in almost all the races this year. He showed consistency and reliability by finishing 13 times in the top 10. He even led some of the races for a few laps. It is a shame that he has zero podiums to his credit, but his team has to take some of that blame because it was their faulty strategy that kept him back. Nico too should have performed better since he has a car fast enough to challenge the top teams.

    7. Adrian Sutil (Sahara Force India)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x208xadrian 2011 300x208q9d7bd4pagespeedicSwtVYgOy4
    The German driver, who is likely to exit Force India very soon, was the best among mid-table drivers. His statistics are no match to Nico Rosberg’s, but Sutil was a better driver than Nico in 2011 because he achieved the best ever result possible in his car. Being in a slower car when compared to the table toppers, Sutil breached the top 10 in qualifying many times. His race performances were satisfactory but not excellent. He has been reliable and has been the main reason why Force India almost matched Renault in the constructor’s championship.

    6. Felipe Massa (Ferrari)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x211xfelipe massa 2011 300x211q9d7bd4pagespeedictfWVu9GzWB

    Inspite of having 3 fastest laps to his credit, Felipe Massa has no one else to blame but himself for his dismal performance this season. He is a better driver than what the statistics allude him to be. With no poles, no wins and no podiums, it has to be said that this is Massa’s worst season at Ferrari. He may sight the slow pace of his Ferrari as an excuse, but his teammate Alonso seems to have done well with the same car. His infamous incidents involving Lewis Hamilton not only proved costly for him in the races, but also tarnished his image as a good driver.

    5. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x210xlewis 2011 300x210q9d7bd4pagespeedicWDRW 3RExp
    5 penalties ! That is a stat which signifies Lewis’ performance this season. Though he matched the pace of the Red Bulls on numerous occasions, his inconsistency led to his downfall on numerous occasions. Another telling statistic is that he just had 6 podium finishes this year out of which 3 were race victories. His break-up with Nicole might have had something to do with his inconsistent performance. This is in fact Hamilton’s worst ever season in his career and is the first time ever that he has finished behind his teammate in the standings.

    4. Mark Webber (Red Bull)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x204xmark webber 2011 300x204q9d7bd4pagespeedic4e1WOKhvT0
    The Aussie was completely overshadowed by his world championship winning teammate. But the fact is that Webber this season was a pale shadow of what he was during the initial races of the 2010 season. Where Vettel has improved, Webber has been static. But he doesn’t lack the skill or the car to win. The 7 fastest laps (most by anyone this season) is a true testimony to his driving finesse. This season, he ended up consistently on the podium, thereby garnering crucial points for Red Bull. Webber has been a team man this season, but his solo victory at the last race of the season wasn’t sufficient enough to please his fans.

    3. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x198xalonso 2011 300x198q9d7bd4pagespeedic7IDAolQ4Zs
    The Spaniard, who finished 2nd in the race for the driver’s championship in 2010, couldn’t do any better this season. In fact he finished 4th this year. But Fernando Alonso is not to be blamed. He did his best to match his rivals in a slower car. His duel with Mark Webber was entertaining with both men executing unbelievable overtakes. Alonso may just have one victory to his credit but he is the third best driver of the season simply because of the excellent starts he has had throughout this season. No matter where he was on the grid, Alonso placed himself amongst the top 3 at the end of the first lap. He also outperformed his teammate, unlike Webber.

    2. Jenson Button (McLaren)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x211xjenson button 2011 300x211q9d7bd4pagespeedicchicJ5obFB
    From a racing point of view, Jenson Button should have been the No. 1 driver. But Button cannot claim the no. 1 spot simply because of his poor qualifying record. He did, however, perform exceedingly well this season than the previous one. His Canadian Grand Prix victory was unbelievable. To his credit, he has 3 victories this season and 3 fastest laps, which is commendable. With DRS and Pirelli tyres affecting the performances of several drivers, Jenson Button was unperturbed by any of those and ended up being the second best driver of the season, behind runaway leader Sebastian Vettel.

    1. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull)

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x194xsebastian vettel 2011 300x194q9d7bd4pagespeedic7FsEqP5bX
    As he has been all season, Sebastian Vettel is the driver of the year. He has done everything perfect to deserve this status. He won 60 % of the races and was on pole in 75% of the races. He even achieved the Grand Chelem (Pole, Win, Fastest Lap and led all laps) in the first ever Indian Grand Prix. What is even more impressive about Vettel is the fact that he was on podium 17 times this year out of his 18 finishes. It has to be said that he dominated this season completely. As a testimony to his domination, he retained his World championship with 4 races to go. It is hard to believe that he is just 23 years old. Expect him to dominate in the coming years too.

    Simply put, Sebastian = Domination; Vettel = Mettle.

    HONOURABLE MENTION:

    Michael Schumacher (Mercedes):

    -Formula 1 - Season 2012 - - 300x212xmichael 2011 300x212q9d7bd4pagespeedicZHmRVCoklS
    Michael Schumacher showed flashes of his brilliance this year. However, those performances did not help him to break into the top 5 in the championship race mainly because of his inconsistency. He finished just 14 of the 19 races this year, a completion rate of just 75%, which is very poor according to his high standards. His performances in qualifying were appalling, to say the least. But he gets a mention in the top 10 drivers of the year list, just because of those flashes of brilliance, which brought back memories of his glorious past.

    Ferrari restructure 'paying off' as team targets fightback in 2012
    Ferrari is confident that the technical restructuring and staff changes it undertook during a disappointing 2011 campaign are now paying off as it strives to get back on terms with chief Thanks bro, for the complement.

    Here is Mark Webber's off season activity.
    Mark Webber and Troy Bayliss

    Yesterday's Mark Webber frolics on two wheels were not accidental. Post did not give me peace, so I decided a little sniff. From the information that I managed to get that meeting on the track was arranged by the Red Bull driver, who in the past few months closely followed the actions of Troy Bayliss.

    Former Rider Superbike and MotoGP, by the way very successful competitor, in June of that year he began the action "Troy Bayliss Experience", which allows the driver fans have a unique opportunity to meet him on the track. Session, held at Queensland Raceway track, as opposed to earlier, was organized specifically for Mark Webber and could participate in it only a few close friends of both drivers. Meeting under the working name of "Fun Day" was a kind of new opportunity for the track, which take place, because for the first time the participants had the opportunity to ride on the new pavement.

    Car launches spurts, F1 drivers in direct to exam latest models – Economic Times

    What is a fastest Indian in a universe you do when he’s not blazing rubber upon Formula 1 tracks? No, he doesn’t journey down a categorical highway with a garland of chicks in a behind seat. Instead Narain Karthikeyan, who races for a Hispania Racing Team (HRT) upon a F1 circuit, tests cars for Tata Motors. The highway sow who has Tata prominently emblazoned upon his steel sheet as great as his clothes – a organisation has been a constant unite ever given Narain was a exam motorist with a Williams F1 group 4 years go – isn’t a usually automobile race horse who tests cars. Gaurav Gill, a singular of Asia’s heading rallyists , as great as Karun Chandhok, a haven motorist for Team Lotus in F1, additionally assistance manufacturers sign a roadworthiness of their top-end models.

    “It is a healthy course to get in to contrast cars, generally during a gaunt season,” says Gill, who has tested super-performance cars such as a Audi R8, a Mercedes AMG, a Porsche Panamera as great as a Porsche Cayenne. Depending upon a series, a series of races in a year ranges in in between fifteen as great as 25. For instance, 2011 F1 monthly calendar had nineteen races. “So contrast depends upon how most time can be managed in in between races, though approbation a infancy of it happens during a reduced off season,” says Narain who had logged over 6,000 kilometres of contrast with Williams. Testing might appear similar to fun all a way, though it is incredibly tough work too.

    Not usually does a singular need to be a great driver, a singular has to be technically skilful as well. Narain explains which engineers rely upon a tester’s feedback to have developmental changes to a car. The feedback has to be accurate as a manufacturer will thus cgange a public line. Inaccurate inputs can outcome in wastages as great as price increases. “So it is vicious to get it right, each singular time,” says Narain. “Sometimes a exam routine has to be steady mixed times only to be certain of one’s interpretation,” he adds. The contention of automobile contrast is not categorical stream, not yet. Car companies in India still do not have automobile testers upon their roles.

    Nico Rosberg says skipping first 2012 F1 test won't hamper Mercedes season
    Nico Rosberg does not believe that missing the first official Formula 1 test of 2012 will affect Mercedes' competitiveness this season.

    You really want me to answer that question? I don`t want to get in trouble with Eddie
    Btw, did you know that Rory Byrne is actually over looking the design of Ferrari 2012 car? It`s certainly news to me.

    Talking of Eddie and keeping in line with the theme, here is a video for you Eddie. Your treat, unless you made it in the first place. Look em up, there is a whole series of it.

    I don`t see the crappy youtube video I am trying to put here. Anyway Eddie, Its called Kimi Raikkonen The unknown warrior trailer. Look it up.

    Cool

    When Enzo Ferrari couldn’t use his own name because of legal issues with Alfa Romeo but was determined to continue racing, he created the Auto Avio 815. Seven years later, the first car to wear the Ferrari name appeared – 1947’ 125 S. Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa dressed in the style of early drivers and drove the cars for us.

    Excuse the English in pushto accent in the vdo, but at least its english , otherwise we would've needed UK's expertise.

    @Blackeye117
    Rory Bryne was part of Ferrari Dream Team(Michal, Todt, Brawn, Bryne). Bryne have designed cars for Michal's all 7 World Titles. Bryne was part of Benetton when Michal was there in 94 and 95. When Michal comes in Ferrari, Bryne also switches to Ferrari, and designed 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06 challengers for them. 07 car was also partially designed by him but then he was relocated in Ferrari's Automobile division and later he retires from Ferrari.

    Now Ferrari has re-hired him and he is over looking the 2012 Challenger.

    @UK
    I knows that thanks to some planetf1 forum members, Ferrari have bring him back because of 2 reasons:
    1) Mercedes has gone crazy on hiring all Michal's old team members, there was even talks of hiring him too by them. Ferrari don't want to lost him have bring him back in for designing the new car.

    2) From mid of August to mid October, Flavio have visited Maranello many times and these trips were to forward the wishes Alonso have for building a team on his preferrence. Ferrari's moving out of FOTA is also part of this as Ferrari wants to invest more in the team staff which was not possible because of the FOTA's RRA. Flavio is most likely the new team principal from 2013 when his ban period will end and he wants to build a team which have people that he can trust. Rory has worked with Flavio back in Benetton days so they both know each other. Luca was not interested in bringing Rory back but Flavio's insistence made him do that.

    Why are you trying to take a closer look at @UK's avatar, don't you know this is our Bhabi.

    @genius83

    I was reading a thread on f1technical and came across the news about Rory Byrne. I thought he had retired for good but it was a pleasant surprise to find out he is doing a pretty hands on job at the moment. He has been away from the sport and nothing stands still, so remains to be seen how much does his input change things at Ferrari. There is a lot of talk about Ferrari having found a loophole-that may allow them to store gases and use them in corners, another way around the off throttle diffuser ban.

    Are Ferrari still not bound by the RRA for another year or two even though they have quit FOTA? I think their issue is lack of testing, which i feel is a problem for other big teams too like Mclaren and Mercedes.

    I have read about Flavio's imminent arrival at Ferrari for some time. As you said, as soon as his ban comes to an end, and, if Ferrari are without silverware this year then heads will roll regardless.

    Mercedes situation does not sound very promising though. Firstly, i would not be very worried if someone hires Geoff Willis. I remember him from his BAR days. He produced one semi decent car in his time there. As for Costa, not quite sure what to make of him. Secondly, i`ll paste Rosberg`s interview from Autosport, he does not sound very confident and talks about teams realistic aim to score podiums this year.

    @Blackeye117

    As Genius explained, Rory Byrne is the unsung hero of all that success. If my memory serves me right, Schumacher has only ever won three races in a car which was not designed by Rory Byrne, those three race wins came in 1996, his first year at Ferrari. Rory Byrne is a man who consistently beat Adrian Newey.

    @m_waqas

    Thanks for posting the video. Trust me as i was changing my avatar I had a feeling you might ask for something like that and the answer is no! There is nothing there for you to check. I have checked all there is to check It's a Red car, if you see anything else, it's an optical illusion and your mind is playing tricks on you, making you see things that don`t exist OR it could be what Steve said. Learn something from him, he is not a genius for no reason

    I think Red Bull will have their hands full this year and face stiff competition. My avatar will certainly help coupled with a little help from you, watching races that is.
