Same here, i still enjoy my 8th gen more and miss that pleasure while i'm driving my 9th gen. The steering is slower, less composed and doesn't respond with that sensitivity as the 8th gen. Simple reason is the introduction of "artificial intelligence" which Honda couldn't work out by giving the 9th gen an electronic power steering as compared to the natural physics of hydraulic one in 8th gen. This might have increased the fuel average but that pointiness of control has vanished in the process.
Also if you notice, a stand still 8th gen responds and the entire car visibly changes angle when you turn steering while the new one is just stagnant in comparison. This also shows lesser response of suspension to steering
