Thanks for giving me honour to open this club.

Since the no. of platz owners is increasing gradually in Pakistan, it is now necessary to have our own club sothat we share our technical knowledge, our experience and problems with each other.This will help many members in maintaining their rides properly, searching for spare parts and so on.So here is our own club. All Platz owners and fans are welcome to participate and contribute towards this club to keep it always up.

I bought my platz just 2 weeks back which is a/t, 1.0L engine, navy blue metallic colour, 2002 model. I bought it in 480k.It is registered but has no cng.I found it very reliable, more spacious and more comfortable than my earlier city99.It has all the features one could wish to have in his car.So far, I am very satisfied with it. Here are a few pics of my ride:

I didn't measure it but had the feeling that consumption got better.

It IS a serious issue. My own Platz heated up once but don't you know even the local Honda City lacks it? There's none in the 2006 model at least.

so best way is to install after market temp. guage which are easily installable by electricians

I wonder how. My Platz used to cover around 150 km in a cylinder of 55kg while consumption on petrol was 13, if not 14 km/l.

something needs to be fixed the, because I definitely used to cover 150km with 50kg cyl. I never measured fuel consumption though.

well my platz is giving me plus 190 km in local in 55 cylinder...till morning today, completely in local pindi driving, it had alredy given me 183 km in the cylinder when my wife took it to CMH...dunno keh abhee kitnee aur chalnee hey...abt petrol mileage, i went to lahore last month with 2 adults, 2 minors on board with boot FULL of luggage, and it gave me 18.5 km/liter averge when i filled it again at girja chowk

filled my car on wednesday before CNG loadshedding. till now, its already done 201 km in one cylinder, ABSOLUTELY in local pindi, not even to isb, and still its one light is on

Your Platz gives you amazing mileage Masha Allah. Kindly share some tips regarding maintenance to increase the mileage of our cars.

1. 1stly m just planning to buy 1, plz update me about the prices as on pakwheels its range's 7.5m to 8.5m here

2. 2ndly confused about the cng mileage

3. currently using 2005 cultus nd its giving me 260+ on highways nd 220 inside city bt now its giving problems on daily basis nd want to get rid of it ....asked about the (engine 1.0l non-efi )which ranges from 65k-80k....in this price one can easily get 1600cc efi engine

4. bt here in peshawar the mechanical parts for platz are way low in price as my mechanic told me that the assembly of platz is around 14k which is nothing at all(nothing at all because i m comparing it with my cultus)...

5. definitely platz is great considering engine,boot space,interior,airbags,automatic feature(gearbox,windows,mirrors etc)

just came back from murree..filled the gas and got the meter to zero...went straight to lower topa and then to kashmir point and then back to islamabad....F 10 markaz for dahi ballay, from there to bahria town and back here to my place in DHA. till now, 185 kms have been done and still 2 lites are on , despite the fact that from here to muree is all uphill and lower gears have to be used at high rpms

abt the maintenance tips, there is nothing special to be honest. air pressure in tyres is something which we all miss big time. i make sure that i keep the pressure complete all the times, at least twice even something thrice a week i check the air...32 in all tyres...i keep air filter super clean..get it cleaned MINIMUM once a week , sometimes more.. spark plugs i use NGK platinums (i get them from @jz) and while driving, i dont push the car and change gears at low RPMs (i have manual transmission)....

1. My ex Platz 2002 new shape went for Rs. 7 lacs just a few weeks ago. This is just to give you an idea. Many demand 9 for 2005 but please refrain from that. 8.5 should be the very max but remember, Platz has a few selected lovers like you. Not all the same thus buy if you intend to keep for a few years. Waleed80 shall be selling his in the next two months; think about it.

3. No idea about Cultus' engine but this side, in Pindi the owner after me got the engine replaced. He told me 1.0l cost Rs. 13000 while 1.3l cost Rs. 20000, he told me. I got left side's axle stuff done for Rs. 2500.

4. Make sure to drive a Platz well before buying it. Many do not adjust to it because most are 1.0l and the car has a trunk + auto tranny. Also, leg space is something to consider. I have always had to keep moving the seats to and fro whenever anyone sat at the back.

5. If you still buy, welcome whole heartedly to the Toyota Platz Club.

...i keep air filter super clean..get it cleaned MINIMUM once a week , sometimes more......

Taking out air filter means ruining the CNG tuning.

thnx dear for the information bt i prefer a piece of mind instead of these adjustable things like legs space etc. Today I talked to my mechanic here in shoba bazar(peshawar),he said you should buy 1 nd i'll convert it to manual if you wish so

so lets c if i didnt get manual 1 then this will be the solution

Taking out air filter means ruining the CNG tuning.

here u r wrong bro...u r only rite IF the same thing is done after long intervals...i.e...u let the air filter dirty first and then clean it, say after like 20 days or so..wat i do is that i clean is regularly, with so less interval that the overall codition of the filter remains the same over a long period of time

I have upgraded my engine to 1.3l with manual transmission. Also changed axle, shocks accordingly. Thats a 1999 model, I imported myself from Japan and am the sole owner since then. It has never been into a main accident but ofcourse touchings and spray is there. It has ABS, climate control, power windows, retractable side mirrors, matching bumper, 3D digital meter with RPM and CNG Installed. Islamabad Number.
Please advise how much I should ask for it. Though I don't want to give it for anything less than 750k, otherwise I would keep it as a 2nd car. Its a lovely car to keep and also what would you get for that price? a 2nd hand cultus???

Platz itself has slow resale, even the face lifted model. The face lifted model of 2002 goes for around 7. You'd be better off keeping it.

nopes..nothing happens at all as long as u keep the filter in the same condition
