Salaam, sorry for the late reply, missed my mention in notifications ... Yes, Honda's IMA (integrated motor assist) was a relative failure to say the least, and due to the fact that i had reservations regarding prius's exterior (just my own personal opinion), i stayed away from hybrids and went for civic 9th Gen PKDM .. But as soon as Honda launched its new series of hybrid engines in 2013 i became interested in hybrids again .. After having owned and now driven Honda's new hybrid system in vezel, i can assure you its at par if not better than Toyota's hybrid synergy drive. The intelligent dual clutch transmission has def the upper hand than CVT ... And considering new Honda fit (2013 July onward) shares the same engine and features of vezel, my recommendation would be to go for it without hesitation. Just make sure you get a grade car and preferably 2014 march or later manufacturing as first couple of batches of Honda fit hybrid did face a software glitch, so just to be on the safe side .. Hope i was able to help out
