Sir you have some problem in alignment, the car never skids.
Please, we should not compare it with international Corolla's since we are living and paying in Pakistan.
Also no comparison with Civic.
As mentioned earlier I have a 2005 GLi, any owner of SUPER Mehran, Alto, Cultus or LIANA (except Eminent) and Indus XE and GL can compare emergency braking at any speed, behind my car, I will also pay for all dents as per 3S rates, as a shock treatment.
The 2E does not have even enough power to go as fast, so braking is a secondary concern.
Now it becomes our habit to remember old cars and term them better.
FX was better then Mehran, Khyber was better then Cultus, old VTI was better then Eagle Eye VTI, when my father was buying an Indus XE in 93, people said that the JDM EE90 is far better, do not buy Pakistani made car.
The Altis has altogether different brakes, the stopping distance is at least 4-6 ft less then the Xli @100km/hr with stock everything.
Tires play a very important role in braking even if its a donkey cart, if you have the freedom to choose a tire you can make the braking of an Xli better then any non ABS local sedan.
Had the braking was that bad, like a Mehran and cars were skiding and loosing rear ends @40km/hr, Toyota Indus would not be able to sell 35-36,000 cars a year worth a Million Rs and no one is fool enough to throw away hard earned money.
So, do not listen to anyone and check your suspensions, all 4 corner brakes |(discs or drums, whatever they are) and tires gradually.
There was a counterfeit Seiken brake oil which used to make corrosion in the brake lines, stay away from that.
Check for brake pedal modulation and any air in brake lines as it could be really dangerous.
