Steering f---d up by wheel alignment wala !!!

I own a chevrolet joy, after suspension work, i went to a wheel allignment shop in PWD. (I should have gone to some place in saddar with more experience persons)
After front wheel alignment the steering was not straight he opened the steering cover, nut khol kay tried to take off the sterring by force, gave 2-3 hits with a wood on steering column and said yeh electricion say khulay ga ....

Since then the steering is so hard .....power steering say mehran ka steering bun gaya hai ....while driving straight i need to use force to control the steering to keep it straight.........

hellllp me wht to do .............eid kay baad kia keron .......who would fix it.......btw the power steering oil change is also due..........wo b sath he kerwa lon ga ager kharcha kum howa iss ko fix kernay main

pwd, is a society in islamabad next to baharia town. Well i want to know who would fix my steering. guys help me.....i feel so irritated.......the power steering is so stiff even when car is on high speeds....can you tell me people who can fix it in Rawalpindi????

get it checked by total workshop on pori pull next to mitho khan ka ahata rawalpindi they have experienced mechanics

By far the best workshop for all suspension and steering problems is Saeeb Brothers, Gwalmandi. If you visit them please be sure to reach early morning, otherwise you may have to spend several hours there. But I think this one is not such a big problem for them to fix.

The steering wheel should not be removed to be centred, the steering should be locked in place straight ahead, then the wheels aligned to it. If not then the rack has been incorrectly installed.

If for some reason the steering needs to be taken out - you are supposed to use a steering wheel puller on it, not a hammer, if the steering shaft is hammered too hard, the collapsible part can break - the collapsible part is there to break in the event of an accident shock only.

still if you can manage to be standing where they work and dont sit like babu sahibs you can manage to do quality work from them., they do too much cheating on the car suspension, i was a personal victim..

You can visit Diamond suspension wala a few shops away and he is a bit better..
Also if you have to replace something, go for new and quality parts from shops in Gawalmandi like rather than Kabli ones..

We all have had our experiences. In contrast to you I have been a victim of Diamond suspension works. I agree with you that you have to be standing there with these mechanics all the time otherwise they can rob you blindly. The reason I prefer Saeed is their workshop (where all repair work is done) is on the ground floor and alongside main road, so you can check the mechanics. But workshop of Diamond is on the first floor, so what they're doing is not known to you.

Saeed Brothers Rwp is good only if you know the exact problem and the market price of spares if needed. Time ago their foreman can't remember his name but guys there call him Malak Foreman (healthy guy with moustaches) was best at his work. Now most of time they overloaded with work and focucing on parts replacement even they are ok just for making extra bucks and resell after minor repairing.

Saeed guys are clever and expensive but as only faith said stay beside them and you should know the problematic parts very well and their prices,you are good and their work is good.Try negotiate with them on labor and parts if you have to buy qabli parts,negotiation works.

@OP,you will find an alignment shop named 4wheel alignment on the bridge just ahead of saeed bros if you are comming from sadar,they are good and to tell you much better alignment shop,it is located in khadda market near urdu university,Madina alignment center.Best for wheel balance as well having a fly wheel to check rear wheel while rotating them about 120 km/hr speed.

Bro I was in a similar situation like ya, but luckily I found a good technician. He removed the entire entire steering assembly and fixed everything. Steering height adjuster was broken in my case, cuz of hammering.
He charged 2k and took 2 days to complete it.

Saeed bros will rape your wallet. I learnt my lesson long time ago.

I've been to many alignment shops in twin cities. The only one worth going to are Wheels & Wheels IN RAWALPINDI at mareer chowk (the shop in isb blue area is a franchise and the guy there doesn't know how to work proper).

Every time i have ever went for alignment to those guys with the string type equipment i have run into similar problems. Try to get it done from the ones which have that new infrared equipment. Works very well!
