^ Buddy death is written before we were born, But let me reassure you that a 2014 manufactured "made in japan" tyre is better than a brand new chinese one (Obviously if its not damaged). And for people who say that tyres are expired after TWO years and oh u'll die. Well that's not true, that's a lack of information and is total misguidance. Tyres has a 4 year validity period.
I'll tell you guys my story, i own my ef from the past 5 years and i have always used 3-4 year old smugled tyres. Never bought a new set of tyres as i keep changing up the wheels and tyres. Anyway, i have a round from Peshawar-Islamabad quite often, I do 120-140 at most (done 180 aswell, ON SMUGLED TYRES) and thanks to Almighty they never burst in the past 5 years, NEVER. We should be sensible enough to check for the cracks in its thread (which is very necessary when buying smugled tyres) check if they are hard and dry, and make sure there is no puncture to any tyre at the time of purchase. Tyres will only get dry if they're idle for a long time, or exposed to the sun. Excessive heat is the primary reason that causes the tyres to get dry.
So this is my 5 year experience with smugled tyres. i never gave a thought to buying chinese tyres. Maybe they are good, i dont know.. People have different opinions about them which is rather confusing
