Honda CRV is a compact four-door crossover which is being manufactured since 1995. According to the automaker, CR-V stands for "Comfortable Runabout Vehicle" where some people think it stands for Civic Recreational Vehicle.” The production of Honda CR-V was started in Sayama, Japan, and Swindon, the UK for catering the worldwide demand. However with the increase in demand, a new plant was installed in North America in 2007 and Canada in 2012. Honda CR-V is a mid-range utility vehicle between Honda HR-V and Honda Pilot. The mid-range car is currently divided into four different generations however news have circulated that the next generation, which is going to be the fifth generation has shared the platform of the all-new tenth generation Honda Civic.
Talking about the Honda CR-V in Pakistan, there are very few CR-V's present here in the market as there has always been a shallow demand for such vehicles in the auto market of Pakistan. A primary reason why people avoid such vehicles is about the failure of the vehicle. What if the car fails in the market and those who purchased it have no other way to go. There are many vehicles and cases found where the cars failed so bad that the owners can't even sell the vehicle due to zero demand and dispose of until it's completely used.
There are two variants available which are 2.0L and 2.4L, however, there is a possibility that other international trims are also present in the market, but we're sure they must be in single digits only.
There are very few latest models of CR-V in Pakistan, and different embassies own that too. A model more than 10 years old of used Honda CR-V is going to cost under 1.8 million however few years old model is going to stand between 2.5 million to 3.1 million. The latest models of CR-V are going to cost somewhere around 4.5 million.
Available variants are:
Honda CR-V ZXI 2.4
Honda CR-V G 2.4
Honda CR-V G 2.0
KIA Sportage is the direct competitor of Honda CR-V however both the vehicles have failed miserably in the Pakistani market. The Older model of Sportage was sold because of low prices, but now it seems like they have been wiped off from the market. People are comparing Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and the other vehicles offered by the German automakers, but on the factual basis, there is no comparison between them.
A brand new CR-V costs a fortune, and that is where the buyer runs away, one doesn't want to pay such a big amount for a crossover, rather, he'd purchase a full-size SUV. The issue found Pakistani market is comparing a crossover with an SUV and sedan with a hatchback. Harsh reality, but that's how the market is set to be. It can be concluded to the fact that it has Honda CR-V has terrible resale value.
Although the crossover is not readily available but it is said that the 2.0L variant is more popular compared to 2.4L.
