100mm Rain Submerged Lahore Roads – Drive Carefully

A fresh spell of heavy rain has submerged Lahore roads and traffic police have asked the citizens to drive carefully. According to details, rain started in the city early in the morning and continued nonstop for next several hours, flooding the streets and roads. The commuters have faced difficulties in reaching their destinations this morning i.e., offices and education institutes. The Twitter handle of Deputy Commissioner of Lahore wrote that different areas of the city have received over 100 millimeters of rain. “All administrative officers and relevant authorities are are working and citizens should inform them in case of any problem,” the office stated.

Meanwhile, Lahore City Traffic Police have asked the citizens to drive safely as different areas of the city have hit hard by the rain. “The traffic in Campus Pull underpass towards Shah Di Khui Underpass is slow due to rain, citizens should avoid unnecessary commute till rain is stopped,” the police said.

According to the police, Walton Road is also submerged by the heavy rain and traffic has been diverted to alternate roads. “Citizens should avoid this road and call 15 in case on any emergency,” the police appealed.

Earlier, the traffic police shared tips to drive in Lahore. In a tweet the force wrote:

So, if you are planning to go somewhere, wait or follow these above tips to reach your destination safely. Be very cautious because the rain water can damage your vehicles especially your car, and cost you heavily. So, be safe, drive safe and if you can, wait.
