1300cc cars lead the Pakistani market

The total sales for the first nine months of the fiscal year 2014 narrowly missed 100,000 units and in fact, it was what you’d say 99,033 units, up from 96,010 units sold in the similar period of the last fiscal year.

The lead though was taken by 1300cc cars, which enjoy a staggering 51% market share while 1000cc and 80cc vehicles trailed behind with 13% and 37% market share respectively. Price obviously has to do something with it as people can get far better deals on imported cars compared to locally made small cars.

And yet, Pak Suzuki held its throne as the market leader with 56 percent market share, whereas Indus Motors and Honda Atlas followed with 27 and 17 percent market share respectively.

Pak Suzuki is facing competition from used imported cars which are mostly 660cc to 1000cc. The dealers argued that PS increase prices and offer cars with very low value for money, therefore, consumers go towards imported cars.
