2024 Toyota Prado vs. Toyota Land Cruiser V8 LC200 | Detailed Comparison
The new 2024 Toyota Prado is a solid off-roader with Land Cuiser’s signature goodies, but the Land Cruiser ZX V8 is a more luxurious deal, more powerful, and provides better ride quality.
Just a day ago, Toyota Indus Motors unveiled their all-new 2024 Toyota Prado in 2.8 Diesel and 2.7 Petrol variants. And let us tell you one thing, it’s too heavy on the wallet this time, i.e., 6.6-7.6 Crore PKR budget. That’s a hell of a lot expensive!
Now, anyone thinking of buying this 2024 Toyota Prado, unless their requirement is only to buy a brand-new 0-meter SUV, will have the choice to go with the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 or even LC300. The irony is that the LC200, being an up variant of the Land Cruiser series than Prado, is still 3 Crore cheaper (2019 model) than the brand-new Prado.
Here’s a 1-1 comparison of LC200 and 2024 Prado:
Pakwheels POV on Both Cars
We can sense that the majority of people will like the 2024 Prado’s new rugged, Jeep-style boxy exterior and slim headlights, which prove that it’s 2024’s modern car.
On the inside, you’ll not be mistaken that you’re in a Land Cruiser series car; the interior is premium and up-to-the-mark, no doubt. Toyota knew that people buying this type of car would prefer mechanical operations. That’s why almost every function is operable from physical metal buttons; they are nice to touch, satisfying to click, and solid in built quality.
Practicallity-wise, it’s a great car! You get a big boot, which can accommodate 5-6 luggage bags The dashboard has a lot of storage compartments and even the center console box has a fridge so you can keep your drinks chilled on long drives. And arm rest is soft leather stitched so you will not hurt your knees during off-road and long rides.
The only thing that is not good about this Prado is its price. 6.6 Crore for a base variant is a hell lot expensive for a Pakistani market.
Additional comments from the reviewer: The big, bold TOYOTA on the front black grill looks exorbitantly aggressive, and the horizontal DRLs give it a boss look.
Toyota Land Cruiser ZX V8 (LC200), a commonly used vehicle by high-profile celebrities, politicians like MNAs, Presidents, Prime Ministers, and extra-rich off-roaders, the LC200 is more like a status symbol than a practical SUV, not just in Pakistan but all over the world.
Unlike the new Prado, the LC200 has a flood of chrome on the exterior. The front grille, fog lamps, skirts, and even the footsteps have chrome finishes for an executive look. The overall exterior is a bit bland, so it can match every type of user, but it looks nice to the eyes.
Upon entering inside, you’ll immediately feel the premium leather on the seats and door panels. The dashboard has a real wood finish, but the overall dash is plastic—dense, high-quality plastic, not cheap in feel.
Once you get behind the steering wheel, you’ll sense that the nature of the car is more geared towards luxury, comfort, and driving pleasure. It evokes a strong feeling of superiority. Road noise is almost nonexistent in the cabin, suspensions are incredibly soft, seats are ergonomic, and overall sitting posture is great, with no fatigue even if you drive for straight 6–7 hours.
It’s an all-rounder 4×4 SUV made for every type of person.
- You need reliability? It’s a Toyota.
- You need luxury? Just take a test drive on it.
- You need resale? It’s one of the most demanded SUVs in the Pakistani market.
- You need power? A V8 4.4L engine under its hood.
- You need off-roading? Not a problem for LC200’s suspension.
The LC200’s ending model can cost you around 4-5.5 Crores, and believe us, it’s the best value-for-money vehicle you can get for this price budget. From ride, luxury, reliability, and resale to off-road, there’s no place it lacks.
However, if your only requirement is to get a brand-new SUV, then this car isn’t for you. Otherwise, LC200 is a solid deal (2016-2019) if you’ve got a 2-5 crore PKR budget.
