40 More Electric Buses Enter Service in Lahore with Phase-II Rollout
LAHORE: The CM of Punjab inaugurated Phase II of the Lahore Electric Bus Project, adding 40 electric buses to the fleet and opening two new routes.

Speaking at the ceremony today, she revealed that a total of 70 new electric buses will be added to Lahore’s fleet by December, raising the total to 500 buses for the Lahore Division.
She further disclosed that the service will soon expand to Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Sheikhupura, building on the success of electric buses already operational in Mianwali, Wazirabad, Sargodha, and Sahiwal, where passenger turnout has exceeded expectations.
Highlighting the affordability of the service, she emphasized that the fare is just Rs. 20, while students, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities travel free of cost.
The buses are also equipped with modern facilities, including Wi-Fi, CCTV, mobile charging ports, and wheelchair access ramps, setting what she described as “a new standard in public service.”
