4Million Vehicles Got Challans in Lahore in 2021

It seems 2021 was a busy year for Lahore Traffic Police. In a statement, police have issued statistics about challans and educating people about traffic rules in its annual report. In a tweet, the authority stated that it issued challans to 3,930,000 vehicles last year, meaning almost 4million.

Furthermore, the police said it educated 1-crore individuals over minor traffic violations. It indeed is a huge number, and it shows that the police is trying to educate and train the masses about traffic. In a statement, Chief Traffic Officer Muntazir Mehdi said that the purpose of challan is not revenue collection. “Rather, it is for the welfare of the citizens,” he said. Mehdi urged the people to follow traffic rules with safe driving.

Car with 166 E-Challans

Last month, Lahore City Traffic Police captured a rather strange traffic violator. According to the Twitter handle of the force, the car with 166 E-Challans was nabbed in the city. The car owner violated the traffic signals 142 times while violated the Line, Lane and Zebra Crossing 12 times.

And there were 11 Overspeed violations and a single one-way violation. The total amount of all challans is massive Rs80,400, and police have confiscated the car papers.

This surely is one of the biggest E-Challan amount in the city and, astonishingly, this car owner has never paid the fine. We hope that after this, he will pay his challans on time and even better, try to follow traffic rules and regulations.

One-Way Violation

Meanwhile, Lahore Traffic Police have also launched a campaign against One-Way violations. Under the Lahore High Court (LHC) orders, the force is now charging Rs2,000 over this violation. Earlier, the fine was Rs200. The police have urged the commuters to follow the rules and not put their lives in danger.

We hope that you will obey the traffic rules to ensure the safety of everyone. So, drive safe!
