Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Athar Waheed, in an interview, stated that the Punjab government has set up 100 safety camps and installed approximately 700,000 safety rods on bikes in Lahore to protect riders from hazardous kite strings.

The CTO clarified that kite flying is permitted only on February 6, 7, and 8. Regarding security and monitoring, Athar Waheed revealed that thermal-imaging drones are being used to monitor the city both day and night. “A complete safety network is supervising the situation. If any unauthorized kite flying is reported, Police Quick Response Teams are on standby to react immediately,” he said.

To manage the event, a massive force has been deployed, consisting of approximately 2,500 traffic wardens and 10,000 police officers stationed at various points across the city. The CTO highlighted that this operation is the result of extensive planning, noting, “This is not just a matter of three or four days; we began our preparations a month in advance.”
