“8 Saal Baad Chori Hui Honda Civic Mili” – A Theft Story
Today we’re back with an Interesting story of Faizan Haqqee’s Honda Civic, which he found 8 years after it was stolen. The owner bought a 2005 Honda Civic as his first car in 2005 and very precisely specced it according to his liking.
He opted for the top-of-the-line UG grade with leather seats and all of the features but with a manual transmission which very few people went for. The car took six months to be delivered and it was one of the best cars at that time. He leased the car and paid its installments for 7 years along with insurance.
Theft of Honda Civic
As soon as he paid off the installment plan after 7 years, the car got stolen from his apartment’s parking lot. At that time, the insurance had also been ended, so he couldn’t claim his loss. Fast forward to 8 years, out of nowhere, he gets a call from Lahore from the vehicle tracking company that his car has been found.
He went to Lahore, and the car was not in as bad of condition as he expected, although it was painted in black. As per his information, it was driven by a lawyer in that time period. The owner was very happy and excited to find his first car, which he adored, and decided to bring it back to its past glory.
Recovery Process
Although the car had been found and the owner had full evidence of its ownership, recovering the car was a big hassle. The owner thought he would easily get custody of his car, but it was not that easy. He had to spend quite a bit of money on bribes to the authorities, and the bank from which the car was leased demanded 1 lakh rupees as they said that some installments were delayed, but in actuality, it was their system that was at fault. Nevertheless, after resolving all of the legalities, the owner finally got custody of his Civic and brought it back to Karachi.
Restoration
After getting his car back, the owner started restoring it to its original condition. He bought every single part, including suspension, ECU, transmission, shields, trims, headlights, etc. Haqee purchased the best quality parts and did not compromise, for which he also had to wait quite a bit.
He got the car baked painted in a special silver colour which came in Mercedes AMGs. As a big fan of music, he installed an upgraded sound system, and finally, after a long period of restoration, the car was back in its original shape.
The owner now enjoys his Civic and, in fact, drives it daily. The car has gone through an exciting story, making it even more special for him.
