Is another relief in fuel prices in Pakistan around the corner? A little birdie told us some good news, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Petrol prices have been a sensitive topic in the country for the past few months. With the rise and drop of fuel prices in the international market and the declining economic conditions of Pakistan, the fuel prices have been revised multiple times in the country.
Last month, the government had given the citizens some relief by decreasing fuel prices in Pakistan by an average margin of Rs. 10. And now, we are hearing news of another decrease in the prices of petroleum products.
It is expected that the price of petrol might be reduced by Rs. 12 and the price of diesel might be decreased by Rs. 15. These new and revised prices may be announced on 15th of August.
Please note that these are not the final or confirmed prices.
Current Fuel Prices in Pakistan
After the latest reduction in petrol prices, petrol now costs Rs. 227.19 as compared to the old price of Rs. 230.24.
Meanwhile, the new Diesel rate is Rs. 244.95 instead of Rs. 236.
And the new rate of Kerosene Oil is Rs. 230.26 against Rs. 211.43.
Light Diesel Oil now costs Rs. 201.07 compared to the previous rate of Rs. 196.45.
The potential price reduction is coming as the global fuel prices are coming down in the international market. So, a relief for the masses is necessary because petrol prices are directly linked to inflation rate in the country. As fuel prices go up, so does the inflation. A reduction in prices mean that the burden of inflation will become a bit lighter on the people.
We do hope that the government will reduce prices as expected.
