BREAKING: Lahore Routes Closed Amid Punjab-Wide Protests

Authorities have closed several transport services and roads in Lahore, causing major traffic problems amid rising tension after clashes between TLP supporters and police.

Moreover, major credible sources, including Sama News, reported that authorities have shut down the Orange line train and Metro Bus Services due to the current alarming situation and security concerns.  The video below provides important details.

Routes Closed In Lahore

Several major roads in Lahore have been closed in both directions. These are as follows.

Moreover, police have blocked traffic at several key points, including Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabu, Scheme Mor, and Yatim Khana Chowk. The closure of these routes has caused significant distress among citizens and led to long-lasting traffic jams across the city. 

Clashes Reported in Other Cities Of Punjab

The police said the protesters threw stones, sticks with nails, and even petrol bombs, which led to firing and injuries among both civilians and security officers. They arrested several people in voilence.

In Faisalabad, members of the religious group blocked Jaranwala Road during their protest. Police later detained three people and reopened the road for traffic.

In Burewala, protesters threw stones at police, injuring eight officers, including a DSP. In Gujranwala, police used anti-riot measures to break up the crowds and bring the situation under control.

Police and Rangers have been deployed in different parts of Lahore to control the situation. Authorities say the closures are temporary and meant to keep citizens safe until calm returns.
