BYD Customers Report Delays in Vehicle Deliveries

459

Some BYD customers have recently claimed on social media that their vehicle deliveries have been delayed and that dealerships are not providing clear updates.

The issue gained attention after individual customer posts were picked up by several media outlets.

Claims Do Not Represent Every Customer

So far, the complaints appear to come from a limited number of customers on social media; some are highlighted below:

There is no confirmation that BYD has delayed deliveries for all buyers or stopped deliveries nationwide.

The reported delays may be temporary and limited to certain customers, dealerships, variants, or delivery batches.

PakWheels Reached Out to BYD

PakWheels contacted BYD Pakistan to confirm whether deliveries are being delayed, what may be causing the issue, and how many customers are affected.

However, BYD Pakistan has not yet provided an official response or clarification.

PakWheels will update this story once the company shares further information.

Not to be Confused with Hybrid’s Sales Tax Issue

The reported BYD delivery delays are separate from the delays affecting hybrid vehicles.

Hybrid vehicle deliveries are being delayed because manufacturers are unsure which sales tax rate applies to HEVs and PHEVs; we explained this in detail in our previous story. Due to this confusion, some companies have temporarily stopped production and deliveries of their hybrid models.

BYD’s situation is different: the company currently offers only fully electric vehicles (EVs) and has no hybrid models, so it is not relevant to the hybrid vehicles case.

The editor will update this story once they receive the official response from BYD.
