Category Winners of 2022 Women’s World Car of the Year

Every year, different automotive contests are run around the world. One of these contests that you’ve probably never heard of is the Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY). It has an all-female jury of 56 motoring journalists from 40 countries spanning five continents.

For the 2022 edition of the Women’s World Car of the Year award, 65 new cars entered the competition. All contestant cars were launched last year between January 1 and December 31, 2021. American, South Korean, German, French, there were all kinds of vehicles from around the world.

The jurors got behind the wheel of these 65 cars and evaluated them based on safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment, and value for money. Here are the six category winners of the 2022 Women’s World Car of the Year.

1. Best Urban Car

The all-new Peugeot 308 hatchback won the Best Urban Car. The French car has everything: good looks, fun drive, and beautiful interior.

2. Best Performance Car

The electric Audi e-tron GT got the title of Best Performance Car of 2022, and rightfully so. It’s insanely quick, comfortable, and luxurious.

3. Best Large Car

The Best Large Car of 2022 is also an all-electric luxury model, the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Mach-E has the range and class for days.

4. Best Family SUV

The latest 5th generation KIA Sportage took home the title of Best Family SUV, and we could not agree more. It’s the best Sportage yet. Looks sensational inside and out and does family-friendly stuff really well.

5. Best Large SUV

The other SUV category in the Women’s World Car of the Year awards is the Best Large SUV, and the title went to the BMW iX. The remarkably capable electric SUV in almost every area.

6. Best 4X4 & Pick Up

Last but not least, the Best 4×4 Pick-Up of 2022 went to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. The SUV combines the legendary capabilities of Jeep with the new hybrid technology.

The Final Winner

The six category winners are also the finalists of the Women’s World Car of the Year award. The jury will pick the overall winner that will drive home with the Best Car of the Year trophy. The result will be announced around March 8 (International Women’s Day). Stay tuned to find out.
