Changan Karvaan 1.2L

The company introduced this 1.2L or 1200cc variant back in March 2024. We did a first-look review discussing the upgrades in it, and here is a recap of that review:

Launched to compete with the oldie goldie Suzuki Bolan, this Karvaan gives you an upgraded feel that is more than a sluggish, noisy compartment on wheels.

Engine and Performance

Changan Karvaan was previously launched in a 1L variant, capable of producing 68HP, while the new one features a 1.2L engine capable of producing 79HP, mated with a 5-speed transmission. The Chinese automaker claims a 42% improved road handling, pick, and efficient fuel economy from this mid-sized van.

Exterior

Having the same front look as the previous generation, this Karvaan offers manually adjustable projector headlamps, two front grilles, fog lamps, and non-retractable mirrors. Moving on to the rear, it comes with a high-mounted brake light and a decent curve to uphold the look of a van. It also has 14-inch wheels and car badging at multiple places to tell the gazers from where it belonged.

Interior

Sliding into the 7-seater space, it looks much more comfortable than its competitors. Featuring a beige combination with decent legroom and headroom, this van offers minimal vibration and cabin noise from the engine and the surroundings.

It also offers a standard speedometer, radio, MP3, AUX, USB, dual-air conditioning, four cup holders, reclining seats, front power windows, and storage space in the dash. Moreover, its trunk offers a decent space accompanied by a keyless entry.
