The rising petrol prices have left everyone skeptical about the fuel efficiency of their cars. These days, owners of small but fuel-efficient cars are the happiest. But there’s one company proving that even big muscle cars can be fuel-efficient. Yes, the one and only Changan Pakistan.

Changan has recently teased two more crossover SUVs for the Pakistani market. One is Changan Oshan X5, and the other is Changan CS35 Plus. Both are fuel cars with Blue Core technology turbocharged engines. An interesting fact about the Changan CS35 Plus is that the SUV has registered outstanding fuel efficiency ratings.

Changan CS35 Plus Fuel Efficiency Test

Changan launched the CS35 Plus SUV in the Philippines in March 2022. The Automotive Association of the Philippines (AAP) conducted a fuel efficiency test of the newly launched Changan SUV on highway and city.

Here are the results.

  • 21.495 km/L on the highway, distance of 180.652 kilometres at 60-80 kilometres per hour speed.
  • 15.254 km/L in the city, distance of 86.8 kilometres at 60-80 kilometres per hour speed.

The Secret

Changan says the secret of its SUV’s fuel efficiency lies in its Blue Core 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that churns out 158 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

“The optimised internal combustion system reduces fuel consumption by 20% and carbon emissions by 40% without compromising the vehicle’s overall performance,” says Changan.

This fuel efficiency test just took the anticipation of CS35 Plus to a whole new level. Let’s see when Changan Pakistan launches this fuel-efficient SUV in the local market. Whenever that happens, this new crossover will be a worthy choice.

    Toyota Prius got a better fuel consumption, i’am sure corolla cross got also a better fuel consumption, anyway the cars was loaded or empty ? because it won’t be the same result .

    @Waqas
    I totally agree with you brother. Moreover, driving habits, local traffic conditions, fuel quality and other factors are going to matter as well.
