City ⚡ Alsvin – Comparison of Base Variants

And now, we are going to compare Honda City 1.2L Manual with the Changan Alsvin 1.3L Comfort Manual. This article will compare the salient features and specs of these B-Segment sedans.

Engine and Transmission 

Honda City has a 1200cc SOHC i-VTEC engine which produces 88hp and 110Nm Torque. On the other hand, Changan Alsvin comes with a 1370cc DOHC In-Line 4 Cylinder, MPFI engine, generating 99hp and 135Nm torque. Honda has installed 5-Speed Manual, while Changan’s vehicle has 5-Speed Manual with Shift Reminder Transmission. So, this brief comparison shows that Alsvin has a bigger engine, more horsepower and torque and better transmission.

Exterior

Honda is offering Dual Barrel Halogen Headlights in the new City as compared to Projector Headlamps with Electronic Adjustment front lamps in Changan. Both have Halogen Rear Lights and DRLs, while Fog Lamps are not offered in Alsvin and optional in City. An additional feature in City is Electric Retractable Side View Mirrors, which are not present in Alsvin.

The City has 15-inch Steel Wheels and 15-inch Spare Tyre against 15-inch Alloy Rims and Space Saver Spare Wheel of Alsvin. If we talk about the car entry, City has Keyless Entry with Trunk Opener, while Alsvin only has just Keyless Entry. If you compare the Ground Clearance, City has 171.8mm against 158mm of Alsvin.

Interior

The first noticeable feature is the Multimedia Steering Buttons in both vehicles. The sedan by Honda has Tilt and Telescopic Electronic Power Steering, while Alsvin’s Electronic Steering has the option of Tilt only. And if we talk about seating, Civic has Fabric seats, while Changan offers Faux Leather seats. Next is Infotainment System as City has a 7-inch Capacitive Touchscreen and Alsvin comes with a 7-inch Floating Display.

One of the additional features in the new City is Driver Seat Height Adjuster, which its competitor does not offer.

Safety

Now, let’s compare the safety features as both have Dual Airbags, Immobilizer and ABS, while EBD is only in the Honda’s car. The brakes in both vehicles are Disc (Front) and Drum (Rear). The Rear Camera is optional in Honda City, while it is standard in Changan Alsvin.

The current price of Changan Alsvin Comfort is Rs2,149,000, while the price of Honda City 1.2L Manual is Rs2,599,000.
