City 1.5L Aspire M/T ⚡ Yaris 1.5L ATIV X M/T

Honda has finally spilled the official specs and features of the new Honda City. The official prices of all variants have been revealed.. Let’s have a comparison of the 1.5L manual City variant with the 1.5L manual variant of Yaris and see which car is better than the other. Let the games begin! 

Engine & Transmission

Honda City comes with a 1500cc SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 118 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. Toyota Yaris comes equipped with a 1500cc 2NR-FE engine that produces 106 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque. Both cars have the same engine size, but the City variant wins in power just by a hair. 

1.5L engines of both City and Yaris are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission along with Drive by Wire technology. There is only one drive mode in City (normal mode), while two in Yaris (Eco and Sport).

Exterior

The overall look of City is more attractive than Yaris. Both cars have dual-barrel halogen headlights, DRLs, fog lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, and a 15-inch steel spare wheel. Smart key entry, front disc brake, and drum rear brake are other common features in both vehicles.

Here are the exterior differences between City and Yaris. First, City has halogen rear lights; Yaris has LED ones. Second, City has electric automatic retractable door mirrors, something that Yaris is missing. Third, the ground clearance of the City is 171.8mm, and Yaris has 175mm, making Yaris more suitable for local roads.

Interior

Coming to the interior, the new Honda City has another edge over Toyota Yaris. Both cars have premium fabric seats, although Yaris has slightly better stitching. Both vehicles have push-start, multimedia steering buttons, automatic climate control system, and electronic power steering. However, City has tilt and telescopic steering, while Yaris has only tilt option. 

The city has a number of additional features such as rear AC vents, cruise control, and driver seat height adjustment. Moreover, City has a 9-inch touchscreen, while the one in Yaris is a 6.8-inch. 

Safety

Security alarm, immobilizer, rear camera, two airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) are common in both cars. Yaris has three additional safety features, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control (TC), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), that make it safer than City. 

Price

Honda Atlas has priced the City 1.5L Aspire M/T variant at Rs. 3,019,000. The price of Yaris 1.5L ATIV X M/T is Rs. 2,719,000. There’s a price difference of 3 lac rupees.

Looks-wise, the new City is a better looking car than Yaris. Interior-wise, City is again better than Yaris. Safety-wise, Yaris has an edge over City. Price-wise, Yaris is 3 lacs cheaper than City. And there you have it.
