Did MG Pakistan Just Tease the New-Gen HS?
MG Pakistan has dropped a new teaser, and it looks like the company is preparing to introduce the new generation MG HS PHEV in the local market.
The teaser itself does not reveal much detail, but the front-end lighting signature, DRLs, and overall face strongly resemble those of the new-gen MG HS already seen in international markets.
That is why many believe the brand is gearing up to launch the 2026 MG HS PHEV in Pakistan.
MG Teaser Suggests Multiple Launches
MG Pakistan has been building suspense for the past few days. About four days ago, the company shared a teaser that seemed to hint at three vehicles, suggesting multiple launches could be in the pipeline.
However, in its latest teaser shared yesterday, the picture seems much clearer. This time, the front-end lighting signature, DRLs, and overall face appear to match the new-generation MG HS SUV.
So yes, MG is trying to keep things interesting, but this one is not too hard to guess.
Why MG HS 2026 Makes Sense
MG Pakistan’s current lineup has clearly shifted toward hybrid-electric powertrains and newer products. The company is actively promoting the MG HS PHEV, while the older non-PHEV HS has gone quiet in recent months.
We also observed that MG recently removed the HS Trophy from its official website and stopped marketing the non-PHEV variant on Instagram and other social media platforms.

This does not mean the story is only about the HS Trophy being discontinued. Instead, it points to a bigger shift: MG may be making space for a new generation of HS, likely in plug-in-hybrid form.
2026 MG HS PHEV Expected Features
If MG Pakistan is indeed preparing the new-generation HS PHEV, buyers can expect a more modern package than the current version.
Globally, the newer MG HS features:
- A sharper and more premium-looking front design
- Redesigned DRLs and headlamps
- A more refined cabin layout
- Updated infotainment and digital displays
- Improved hybrid packaging in PHEV form
- Better overall road presence than the outgoing model
As for Pakistan-spec details, MG has not yet revealed official figures. But based on the current local MG HS PHEV and the global direction of the new model, we can expect the new-generation HS to carry forward MG’s focus on performance, tech, and efficiency.
The current MG HS PHEV in Pakistan comes with:
- 16.6 kWh battery
- 209 kW combined output
- 480 Nm torque
- 10-speed EDU transmission
- 50+ km pure electric range
- 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds
So if the new-generation model arrives, it will likely build on these strengths while bringing fresh styling, a new cabin, and an updated overall package.

What Happens Next
The front-end design, DRL shape, and current market situation all suggest that MG is preparing to replace or update the outgoing HS lineup with a newer model. The reduced visibility of the old non-PHEV version only adds more weight to that possibility.
Currently, MG hasn’t officially announced the launch date or complete specifications. However, all indications suggest that the 2026 MG HS PHEV is becoming more likely to arrive in Pakistan.
