The Government of Pakistan has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs. 5 per liter for the next week, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division.

The revised prices will take effect from May 16, 2026.

Product Previous Price New Price Change
Diesel Rs. 414.58 Rs. 409.58 Rs. -5.00
Petrol Rs. 414.78 Rs. 409.78 Rs. -5.00

After the revision, diesel stands at Rs. 409.58 per liter, while petrol now costs Rs. 409.78 per liter.

The price cut follows the government’s decision to reduce the ex-depot prices of petrol and diesel. Ex-depot price means the price of fuel at the depot level before it reaches petrol pumps. It is the base notified price used for supply from oil depots, after which dealers sell fuel to consumers at the officially announced retail rate.

The reduction will offer slight relief to motorists and transporters, although fuel prices in Pakistan remain at historically high levels.
