Estimated Increased Car Prices After 25% GST
Yesterday, we told you that the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had accepted the proposal to increase the General Sales Tax (GST) from 18% to 25% on all cars above Rs. 40 lacs but with engine sizes lower than 1400cc. As per details, cars from Pak Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, and Proton are going to be affected by this new policy. However, it is pertinent to mention that not all cars, rather some variants of these companies’ cars, are expected to have revised prices. In this article, we are going to share these new expected prices. But once again, we would like to mention that no official notification or SRO has been issued yet, so these prices are not confirmed. The picture will get clear after an SRO from FBR.
Expected Revised Car Prices
The prices of these cars are going to be revised after 25% GST is applied to them.
- The 1,000 cc Suzuki Cultus VXL variant is expected to observe a hike of Rs. 242,000, taking it to Rs. 4,326,000 from the current 4,084,000.
- Suzuki Cultus AGS’ new price would be Rs. 4,625,000 instead of the current Rs. 4,366,000 as its price can increase by Rs. 259,000
- Suzuki Swift GL Manual can observe a price jump of Rs. 257,000, taking the price to Rs. 4,593,000 from Rs. 4,336,000.
- The second variant, Suzuki Swift GL CVT, is expected to cost Rs. 4,930,000 instead of Rs. 4,654,000, as its price is expected to go up by Rs. 276,000.
- Then comes the Suzuki Swift GLX CVT, and its price can increase by Rs. 299,000, taking it to Rs. 5,339,000 instead of Rs. 5,040,000.
- Toyota’s Yaris GLI MT 1.3 is the next, which currently costs Rs. 4,399,000, and after an increase of Rs. 261,000, it would cost Rs. 4,660,000.
- Toyota Yaris ATIV MT 1.3, the second variant, currently costs Rs. 4,659,000; after the new tax, it would be Rs. 4,935,000 as it would see a hike of Rs. 276,000.
- Toyota Yaris GLI CVT 1.3 currently costs Rs. 4,689,000, and after an expected increase of Rs. 278,000, its new price would be Rs. 4,967,000.
- Toyota Yaris ATIV CVT 1.3 is expected to see a rise of Rs. 291,000, taking the rate to Rs. 5,190,000 from the current Rs. 4,899,000.
- Toyota Yaris AERO CVT 1.3 currently costs Rs. 5,099,000, and after an expected jump of Rs. 302,000, the price would be Rs. 5,401,000.
- Honda City 1.2L M/T, the first variant, currently stands at Rs. 4,699,000, and after a hike of Rs. 279,000, it could reach around Rs. 4,978,000.
- Honda City 1.2L CVT is the next, and it could observe a hike of Rs. 286,000, taking the price to Rs. 5,115,000 from Rs. 4,829,000.
- Proton Saga 1.3L Ace A/T is expected to see a rise of Rs. 243,000, taking the price to Rs. 4,342,000 from current Rs. 4,099,000.
