FAW V2 2017 Owner’s Review: Price, Specs & Features
Our FAW V2 owner’s review is here to bust all the myths that have been associated with the car for quite a long time now. Contrary to popular opinion, there are many things good about the car. Enjoy the review!
Purchase & Price
The owner bought this used 2017 model of FAW V2 in 2019 for Rs. 10 lacs and 60 thousand. How he came to buy this car is he went to PakWheels used cars and applied a bunch of filters like price, engine size, safety features, etc. It narrowed down to two options. One was a Suzuki Liana, and the other was this FAW V2. He preferred to go for V2 hatchback over the Liana sedan because of the better safety features in V2.
In the words of the owner, “I would choose a not-so-good-looking car over an unsafe one.”
Fuel Average
There’s a notion going around that FAW V2 has a bad fuel economy, and it’s completely untrue. The owner says the car has the best fuel economy in its segment. His V2 gives him 10 to 13 kilometers per litre mileage in the city and up to 17 km/L on the highway.
Handling
For a hatchback, FAW V2 has excellent road grip and handling. You can easily drive it over 120 km/h without any body rolls or vibrations. Just be careful when taking any sharp turns, and you’re good.
Ground Clearance
Ground clearance of FAW V2 is one of its positives. The owner travelled all the way to Neelum Valley with his family and had no issues on bumpy and uneven roads.
Comfort
V2 is a comfortable family car with ample head and legroom for four to five passengers. The seats are not leather (of course) but are still relaxing.
Storage
For a hatchback, this FAW V2 owner’s review implies that it has good enough trunk space. There are also multiple storage spaces inside the cabin.
AC Performance
When the owner bought this car, he was not a fan of its AC performance. But once he got it serviced, the AC got its power back. That means the car’s AC runs well if you change its filters on time.
Key Features
FAW V2 has many features such as power steering, power windows, ABS, dual airbags, and adjustable side mirrors.
Missing Features
The owner doesn’t have many complaints about his car because it has plenty of useful features at its price. However, he does think the company could have added a few more features with some extra cost—infotainment screen, steering adjustment, and traction control, to name a few.
Key Issues
The only issue in this car is the cabin noise, which is again not a big thing given the car’s segment and price.
Maintenance & Spare Parts
It’s a myth that spare parts of V2 are hard to find in the local market. Most internal parts such as air filter, air filter, shock absorbers, and others match other JDM cars’ like Toyota Passo, Hyundai Santro, etc. External body parts are also available in the markets. The owner says he added DRLs to the car’s headlights, an infotainment screen, and other things, and it was a fairly easy process.
Resale
People used to be concerned about the resale of FAW V2, but not anymore. Many used car buyers are interested in this car. The owner is confident that he can sell his V2 with profit.
Final Words on FAW V2
The owner bought this FAW V2 three years ago and is absolutely satisfied with his car. He also encourages others to buy V2. “It’s the best car in this price bracket; trust me, it doesn’t get better than this.”
