Changan has launched the Oshan X7 crossover SUV in two variants — Oshan X7 FutureSense and Oshan X7 Comfort. The FutureSense variant costs Rs. 5,950,000 and the Comfort variant costs Rs. 5,750,000. So what does the upper variant has that’s worth the extra 2 lacs? Let’s find out.

Both variants are the same size and look exactly the same. There are no differences in the exterior. Similarly, both variants have the same 1.5-litre turbo engine under the hood and 7-speed DCT gearbox. That means both deliver the same power and fuel efficiency. The key feature differences are inside the cabin.

Seating Space

The first and foremost difference between the two Oshan X7 variants is the seating scheme. The FutureSense is 5-seater and the Comfort is 7-seater.

Smart Trunk Opener

Oshan X7 FutureSense has a smart trunk opener button in the remote key. So you can open the trunk with the press of a button.

Powered Tailgate

The 5-seater Oshan X7 FutureSense also has a powered tailgate that automatically comes down when you press the button in the boot lid. The tailgate in the 7-seater Comfort variant has to be pressed down manually.

Heated & Ventilated Seats

The front row seats in the Oshan X7 FutureSense variant are heated and ventilated that adds up to the car’s comfort.

Adaptive Cruise Control

The 5-seater Oshan X7 FutureSense has adaptive cruise control that automatically adjusts the speed of your car to match the speed the car in front of you. The cruise control system in the Oshan X7 Comfort is standard that maintains the speed that you set.

360° Camera

The 5-seater variant provides a real-time 360° view of the surroundings of your car. The 7-seater variant only has a rear camera.

Front Parking Sensors

The upper FutureSense variant has front and rear parking sensors to help you park like a pro. The lower Comfort variant only has rear parking sensors.

Digital Video Recording (DVR)

The FutureSense variant also has a video recording camera aka Dashcam that records multiple 30 second shots of the surrounding cars in case of collision. The recordings are helpful in accident investigation.

Forward Collision Warning

The FutureSense variant has a Forward Collision Warning feature that senses a potential crash and gives an audio alert to the driver.

Auto Emergency Braking

The Auto Emergency Braking feature is an extension of collision warning. It gets activated by itself in case of unavoidable collision. These  safety features work because of the front radar fitted in the front grille of the FutureSense variant. The Comfort variant does not have this radar.

These are all the feature differences between the two Oshan X7 variants. And, yes, the upper variant definitely justifies the extra 2 lacs. Do you agree?
