“Ford F150 Raptor is The King of Trucks”- Owner Review
Today we’re back with the owner’s review of the Ford F150 Raptor. The first generation of the F150 was launched in 2010, which gained a lot of success; this particular car is the 2nd generation, launched in 2017. Ford reduced the engine displacement and introduced a 3.5 twin-turbo V6 engine producing 450hp and 510lb of torque configured with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The owner imported this car from Dubai at a price point of Rs. 25 million, and he shares his experience of owning the “king of trucks” in Pakistan.
Salient Features
The Raptor may look tough and rugged, but it comes with many luxurious features, including electric leather seats that are heated and air-conditioned, 10 speaker Bang Olufsen sound system, dual-zone climate control, ventilated steering, 6 driving modes along with 3 steering modes. It also has a soft-closing back lid with an embedded seat.
Drive
The Ecoboost twin-turbo engine provides impressive power, and acceleration is improved compared to the outgoing V8. It comes with 17-inch alloys with 35-inch tyres, which are excellent for off-road and on-road terrains. It has FOX Racing suspension, which is globally renowned for off-road performance; however, it is also tuned to give maximum comfort on paved roads.
Transmission
Ford introduced its 10-speed automatic transmission in the 2nd gen raptor. The owner is very impressed with it as the gear ratios are small, enhancing fuel efficiency, and the car is very quiet as the extra gears help it keep RPMs low at high speeds.
Fuel Average
The owner shares an interesting experience regarding the fuel consumption where the car gave him 8 to 9 km/l when initially driven on the existing fuel in the car from Dubai. However, it gives 4 to 5 km/l on local fuel within the city.
Storage Capacity
The Raptor is a full-sized truck and is ideal for storing luggage on its deck; it has a cargo volume capacity of 52.8 cubic feet. The Interior is also very spacious, and passenger comfort is excellent, with ample knee and headroom.
Safety Features
Safety features include 4 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, 4 wheel ABS brakes, SOS post-crash alert system with AdvanceTrac and Roll stability control, etc.
