Forland Safaari vs Changan Karvaan | Detailed Comparison After Price Cut
Just a day ago, JW Forland announced the big news of reducing the price of Safaari by up to 400K PKR. Now that it’s just 500K more expensive than Changaan’s Karavaan, and 500K might be a big difference, but relative to 3 million, it’s not that much if the competitor is offering a better deal.
After paying 500K, what do you get? Is it really a better option to pay an extra 500K and get a Safaari or save 500K and get a Karvaan? We’ll make the comparison, and you’ll decide which is the better option for you.
- JW Forland Safari Comfort 1.5 CL: Rs. 3,499,000
- Changan Karvaan Plus 1.2: PKR 2,999,000
Of all the variants of these two vehicles, the above-mentioned variants are the best options for comparison.
Pakwheels Un-bias POV on Both Options
These types of vehicles are very different from typical 4-door cars and are more used for commercial purposes than for personal use. Buyers of such MPVs look more toward practicality, such as fuel average, sitting capacity, and maintenance cost, rather than interior design, aesthetics, and ride quality.
For such buyers, both MPVs are great options. The attention to detail is that both cars have slim tires, minimal interiors, and smaller engines, so they could provide better fuel efficiency and nothing much that can be broken by passengers.
However, Safari is a better option if you can manage to add 500K to the budget. It seems like they have tried to incorporate an unconventional, good-looking interior into the vehicle rather than an old, conventional plastic dashboard like a parcel delivery van.
Karvaan is certainly not a bad deal. It comes with all the practical options that a commercial transport owner would need. Still, for family use, we would prefer to go with Safaari, as it has a bit better interior and options.
