From October 1, Driving Without a License Could Land You Jail

Driving without a license in Islamabad is about to get much riskier. Starting October 1, the city’s traffic police will launch a strict crackdown on unlicensed drivers, warning that arrests, vehicle impoundments, and legal action await violators.

Under the new enforcement plan, anyone caught operating a vehicle without a valid license will face immediate arrest, while their car will be seized on the spot. Authorities also announced that offenders will not be granted character certificates until they obtain a proper license.

Officials said the move is designed to tighten road discipline and discourage unlicensed driving, a growing concern in the capital. The directive will be implemented across all of Islamabad, with traffic police preparing special operations to ensure compliance.

Residents have been advised to carry valid licenses at all times, as officials made clear that no exceptions will be made once the crackdown begins.
