GAC Introducing 4 New EVs: What to Watch on May 20th

3,385

Lucky Motor Corporation is set to officially launch four GAC electric vehicles in Pakistan on May 20, 2026.

The launch will include models from two GAC electric sub-brands: AION and Hyptec. The expected lineup includes the AION V, AION UT, AION ES, and Hyptec HT.

Two of these models, the AION V and AION UT, are already familiar to some Pakistani buyers through GUGO Motors bought by Tesla Industries. The AION ES and Hyptec HT, however, are expected to make their Pakistan debut through LMC.

The key question is not only which cars are coming. It is what LMC confirms on price, warranty, service, charging support, delivery timelines, and Pakistan-specific specifications.

Important Disclaimer

The specifications below are based on international-market information from GAC sources and existing GUGO-listed details in Pakistan where available.

Pakistan-specific variants, prices, warranties, charging standards, feature lists, booking details, and delivery timelines will be confirmed at the LMC launch event on May 20.

AION V: The Electric SUV

AION V

The AION V is one of the better-known GAC EVs in Pakistan because GUGO Motors has already introduced it locally.

Internationally, the AION V is positioned as a mid-size electric SUV with a practical cabin, front-wheel drive, and a large LFP battery pack. It sits in the space where buyers want an EV SUV with range, space, and a more rugged design than smaller urban EVs.

AION UT: The Compact EV Option

AION UT

The AION UT is the more compact and urban-focused model in the lineup. It is already familiar to Pakistan through GUGO Motors, which has listed the AION UT5 locally.

Internationally, the AION UT is positioned as a compact electric crossover/hatchback with a large cabin for its size, front-wheel drive, and a 60 kWh battery in the higher-spec version.

AION ES: The Electric Sedan Making Its Pakistan Debut

AION ES

The AION ES is the new name for Pakistan buyers in this lineup. Unlike the AION V and UT, it does not already have a direct GUGO benchmark in the local market.

Internationally, it is positioned as a D-segment electric sedan or fastback-style sedan. That makes it interesting for buyers who want an EV alternative to conventional sedans rather than another crossover.

Hyptec HT: The Premium Electric SUV

HYPTEC HT

The Hyptec HT is expected to be the flagship model at the event.

Hyptec is GAC’s premium electric sub-brand, positioned above AION. The HT is a large electric SUV and is known internationally for offering both conventional-door and gullwing-door versions.

However, the gullwing-door feature depends on the variant. LMC will need to confirm whether Pakistan gets the standard version, the Ultra gullwing-door version, or both.

What to Watch on May 20th

LMC’s launch will decide how these four GAC EVs are positioned in Pakistan. The AION V and AION UT already have GUGO benchmarks, while the AION ES and Hyptec HT will depend entirely on LMC’s pricing, variant choice, and support package.

Key Questions for Every Model on Launch Day

Model Main Question Why It Matters
AION V Will LMC offer the same spec as the GUGO-listed AION V6? Buyers will compare price, warranty, battery support, and features directly against existing imported units.
AION UT Will LMC price it aggressively? This could become the most accessible EV in the lineup if pricing and warranty are strong.
AION ES Will it be priced as a premium EV sedan or a practical sedan alternative? It has no local benchmark yet, so pricing will decide its real competition.
Hyptec HT Will Pakistan get the gullwing-door variant? If confirmed and priced sensibly, it could become the headline premium EV of the launch.

What’s the LMC Advantage?

Two of these four cars are already being sold in Pakistan by Tesla industries that brought GUGO as well. So why choose LMC? The answer comes down to a few things that will only become clearer on May 20:

LMC’s established nationwide dealer and service network (already running Kia and Peugeot operations across the country), the backing of one of Pakistan’s largest industrial groups, and crucially, whatever warranty and after-sales terms LMC announces at launch.

For the AION ES and the Hyptec HT, there is no prior benchmark in Pakistan. Those two cars will define their own market positioning the moment prices are disclosed.

Charging and V2L: Pakistan EV Infrastructure Context

According to the international market of GAC, all four models use CCS2 (DC) and Type 2 (AC) charging standards, compatible with Pakistan’s growing public fast-charging network in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.

All four cars also support V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), the ability to power appliances directly from the car battery. In Pakistan, where load shedding is a daily reality for many households, this is not a marketing footnote. It is a genuinely practical feature.

Bottom Line

The May 20 launch is important because it is not only about four new EVs. It is also about whether LMC can give GAC AION and Hyptec a stronger official ownership case in Pakistan.

The AION V and AION UT already have existing importer benchmarks. The AION ES could introduce a new electric sedan option. The Hyptec HT could become the premium highlight if the right variant is confirmed.

Prices, warranty, service network, charging support, Pakistan-specific specs, and delivery timelines will decide how serious this launch really is.

PakWheels will cover the launch event and share the confirmed details as soon as they are announced. Stay tuned!
