GPX 125cc and 150cc Motorcycles Launch in Pakistan: Prices, Specs & Models List

The GPX motorcycle brand has launched in Pakistan, brought by the Royal Power group. The initial offering includes:

• Four petrol motorcycles with 125cc, 150cc, 200cc and 250cc engines
• Two electric scooters.

This launch needs special attention because, after so many decades, a petrol motorcycle brand has entered Pakistan, targeting the most popular 125cc and 150cc bike segments. 

For decades, these segments have been controlled by the Honda CB150F, Suzuki GS150, and Suzuki GR150. Yamaha did try with the YBR, but utterly failed. 

Now, GPX is trying to make a name for itself in this segment. 

What is GPX Motorcycles?

GPX is a Thai motorcycle manufacturer that originally started in 2007. 

Initially, the company focused on importing and assembling ATVs and off-road dirt bikes.

By 2014, the company decided to enter the mainstream commuter market. Quickly, this Thai motorcycle brand became popular and one of Thailand’s best-selling motorcycle brands.

During the 2015 and 2016 Thailand Motor Expos, GPX surprised Thailand’s motorcycle industry by securing the number one spot with the highest pre-booking numbers. 

So far, the company has been exporting its motorcycles to Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Greece, and Bangladesh; Pakistan is next on that list.

A Possible Competition for Honda and Suzuki’s 150cc

GPX in Pakistan will probably challenge the Honda CB150, Suzuki’s 150cc lineup (including the GS 150 and GR 150), and the Suzuki GSX 125.

The issue with these brands is that they still sell carbureted engines, old-school commuter looks, and halogen headlights in Pakistan at a price we all know is overpriced. 

GPX is now something these Japanese brands have never had to deal with before.

The brand is offering 125cc, 150cc, 200cc, and 250cc motorcycles that are roughly 30 to 40% cheaper than the similar Honda and Suzuki options. 

For that lower price, buyers get a machine with:

• EFI fuel injection
• Dual disc brakes
• ABS + TCS
• Oil or liquid-cooled engine
• Digital displays
• Bluetooth with screen mirroring
• LED headlights
• And not to forget, stylish looks.

All these features set a new benchmark for the local motorcycle industry in the 125-250cc segment. If GPX can deliver on these promises, it has the tools to end the current commuter-monopoly held by Japanese motorcycle brands.

That’s the most awaited part, all GPX models come with very attractive price tags.

Two models are likely to get the most attention, Libre 150 and the RZ200:

The Libre 150 costs Rs 375,000, which is way less than what you pay for a Honda CB150F and almost the same price as the Suzuki GS 150. But for that price by GPX, you get a 150cc bike with six gears, fuel injection, and a digital display. 

That is a features list Pakistani buyers have never seen at this price point.

The RZ200 sits a step above. It is a 200cc oil-cooled naked sports bike with ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, and six gears, all for roughly the same price as a Suzuki GR150, which offers nowhere near the same package.
