Hi-Speed Cyclone 250: The 250cc EFI Bike Under 8 Lacs

7,703

At the Pakistan EV Expo, while most attention was focused on electric scooters and bikes, one petrol motorcycle also caught our eye, the Hi-Speed Cyclone 250.

It has something worth talking about.

The Company Behind It

Hi-Speed isn’t new to Pakistan’s motorcycle market. They’ve been manufacturing CD70 knockoffs for years; you’ve probably seen the Hi-Speed SR70 around. But in 2017, the brand expanded its strategy by importing Zongshen’s 150cc model from China and launching it as the  Hi-Speed Infinity 150, its first white-labeled 150cc motorcycle.

White-label means the original manufacturer was Zongshen in China, but Hi-Speed puts its own name on the product in Pakistan with official support and warranty.

Since then, the company has introduced several higher-cc bikes in the 5-lacs-or-above price segment. Out of all those, the Cyclone 250cc is their second most in-demand product after the Infinity 150, according to the company’s representative at the event.

Although Hi-Speed is an importer that puts its own branding on Chinese products. But over the past eight years, they’ve built a reputation in the Chinese 150cc-and-above market through this white-labelling approach.

Coming back to the Cyclone 250cc, this bike makes a lot of sense given what it offers.

Looks and Mechanics

Visually, the Cyclone 250 leans toward a chopper aesthetic. It looks substantial, and the build quality feels solid for the price bracket.

It’s not just this Chinese motorcycle that has good build quality; Chinese motorcycle brands have improved their manufacturing standards overall. Lifan KP Master 200, Carrera 250cc, Zongshen RX3, and other 150cc options are proof of that.

Underneath the frame sits a 250cc air-cooled engine bolted to a 6-speed transmission.

The engine block pushes out 19 horsepower and 18 Nm of torque. Fed by a 13-liter fuel tank, it has enough grunt and range for both city commutes and weekend highway runs.

Here are the full specifications:

The EFI Advantage

The fuel injector proves that the bike uses an EFI system

That’s the main talking point. At Rs 775,000, the Cyclone 250 is the cheapest mainstream 250cc EFI motorcycle you can buy in Pakistan right now.

Yes, there are technically cheaper EFI motorcycles on the market, but they either fall into lower-cc segments, are obscure models that never caught on, or don’t come with official warranty and support like this one.

The ABS Confusion

There’s one discrepancy worth noting. The company’s website shows the Cyclone 250 equipped with an ABS unit visible on the right side of the engine. However, the display unit at the expo had no ABS system fitted.

We couldn’t get clarification on whether ABS is standard, optional, or simply absent on current production models. Potential buyers should verify this before purchasing.

Suspension Claims

The bike is marketed with nitrogen suspensions. Visually, there appear to be additional reservoir units on the shock absorbers. The attached reservoir holds high-pressure nitrogen gas and extra oil to keep the suspension from overheating and becoming bouncy.

However, we couldn’t verify whether it was a real nitrogen reservoir or just an empty metal box designed to look like one.

At this price point, an actual nitrogen suspension would be impressive, though we cannot say for sure about it until someone on the internet breaks it open.

The Competition

The most direct competitor is the Lifan KPR 200 Roadmaster, priced slightly higher but offering some technical advantages:

Feature Cyclone 250 Lifan KPR 200
Displacement 250cc 200cc
Cooling Air-cooled Liquid-cooled
Engine Tech EFI EFI with NRF (Lifan proprietary)
Price Rs 775,000 Approximately Rs 850,000+
Brand Recognition Growing Established

The Lifan offers liquid cooling, which is superior for engine longevity and consistent performance. But the Cyclone counters with 50cc more displacement and a lower price.

Styling is subjective. Some will prefer the Lifan’s cafe-racer look; others, the Cyclone’s chopper aesthetic.

Should You Consider It?

Is the Hi-Speed Cyclone 250 Pakistan’s cheapest EFI motorcycle? No. Cheaper options exist in lower-displacement categories.

But it is the cheapest 250cc EFI motorcycle from a company with proven market presence.

For Rs 775,000, you’re getting a six-speed, fuel-injected quarter-liter motorcycle from a brand that has established parts availability and service support through its Infinity 150 network.

If you want a 250cc motorcycle with fuel injection, chopper look, and don’t want to stretch your budget, the Cyclone 250 deserves a test ride.
