Honda Pakistan has announced an SRS airbag recall for three older models in the country, advising owners to visit the nearest authorized Honda dealership for a free replacement.

According to the company’s official social media post, the recall applies to the following models:

Model Affected Years
Honda Civic Oriel Reborn 2006 to 2012
Honda CR-V 2008 to 2011
Honda Accord 2004 to 2012

Honda has not yet shared technical details behind the recall. The company has not explained whether the issue is related to the airbag inflator, control module, deployment system, or any other SRS component.

For now, Honda has only stated that customer safety is its “top priority” and that affected owners should visit the nearest Honda 3S or 2S dealership for free replacement.

The point to note is that Honda is recalling models that are already more than a decade old, with some Accord units now approaching 20 years on the road.

That raises the question of why these vehicles have been recalled after so many years, and why now?
