How To Get Your International Driving License
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is an identity document that allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle in any country that recognizes IDPs. IDP is issued to foreign travelers from Pakistan in accordance with the Vienna Convention, 1968. The IDP must be accompanied by a valid driving license to be valid.
Important Documents for International Driving License
You can easily apply for your international driving license by taking the following documents to the nearest driving license center in Lahore.
- Copy of Pakistani Driving license, issued from Lahore., which still has 1 year left till expiry
- A copy of Pakistani Passport valid for at least 6 Months with Visa.
- Copy of CNIC of applicant
- 2 passport-sized photographs
- A court fee of Rs. 66, which can be obtained from the district court
- A receipt of payment of Rs. 450 in any HBL bank
The application for an international driving license is processed the same day. An e-receipt is issued to the applicant on which the date for collecting the IDP is mentioned. It is mandatory for the applicant to appear himself/herself to submit the required documents.
