Hyundai Brings Back 6th-Generation Elantra with 2.0L Petrol Engine
As we reported last month, Hyundai is planning to reintroduce the 6th generation ICE (Internal Combustion Engine), and their decision comes in response to the rising demand for conventional engines and a visible price gap in the sedan market.
If you don’t know, the 6th-gen Elantra was discontinued locally when Hyundai rolled out the 7th-generation hybrid Elantra on October 25, 2024. However, industry insiders revealed that the 6th-gen ICE variant has continued to sell in other international markets, motivating Hyundai to reintroduce it here.
Building on that, today, Hyundai has officially re-launched the 6th-generation Elantra in Pakistan, introducing it as the Elantra Limited Edition 2.0-liter, marking the sedan’s return to local showrooms.
Price and Booking
The Ex-Factory Price of the new Elantra Limited Edition is Rs. 6,850,000 (Levy included).
- Booking Price: Rs. 2,000,000

Key Differences from the Elantra Hybrid Model
The 6th-generation Elantra Limited Edition retains its naturally aspirated 2.0-liter petrol engine, unlike the 7th-generation Elantra Hybrid, which uses an HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain.
While it’s a step down from the current hybrid model in terms of generation, the good side is that you get to save significantly on price, and it still offers all the standard features expected from a sedan under 7 million rupees.
Exclusive Enhancements: What Sets the Limited Edition Apart
Hyundai’s Limited-Edition variant introduces several distinctive design and comfort upgrades that differentiate it from the standard model. These exclusive features include:
- Two new interior seat color options: Imperial Burgundy and Regal Cappuccino, in addition to the existing Beige.
- Black side mirrors and black shark fin antenna.
- Rear spoiler and side sun visors.
- New trunk mat for added practicality and a finished look.
- Limited Edition sticker for distinction.

Where It Stands Against the Competition
The Elantra Limited Edition 2.0L is positioned to compete with the Toyota Yaris and Honda City, both strong performers in the conventional petrol sedan category. With its 2.0-liter engine and pricing, Hyundai aims to capture buyers seeking a price-focused ICE sedan in this segment.
