Hyundai-Nishat hosted a private event today to reveal the first CKD unit of Hyundai Sonata. As per our sources, the company is launching the car in two variants, one with a 2000cc engine and the other with a 2500cc engine. Other than the engine, there are three main differences between the two variants. Overall, they look exactly the same. We have got our hands on the leaked pictures of the car.

Expected Prices

We still don’t know what the prices are going to be. But we are expecting  the prices to be between Rs. 7 to 8 Million +/-.  Some rumors are suggesting that the price can go as high as 9 Million for the top-end 2.5L version, while the base price can start as low as 6.5 Million for the base 2.0L variant. Again, nothing is confirmed yet.

Competition

Hyundai Sonata will be going head to head with two other premium D-segment sedans, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The good thing about Sonata is that it will be offered at a much lower price than Accord and Camry.

Recently, Hyundai has imported 456 CKD kits of Sonata. Now that the first locally assembled unit is out, we hope the company will officially launch the vehicle very soon. Let’s see when Hyundai Sonata is available in the local market and how well it performs against its competition.
