Hyundai’s Statement

In the circular, Hyundai Nishat said that it is resuming order intake for Hyundai Tucson from March 25th, 2022. Meanwhile, the company said depreciation of Pakistan rupee to US dollar, increasing cost of commodities and soaring freight charges globally are the reasons behind this fresh hike. “These reasons have increased the input cost of our CKD kits and local parts forcing us to partially reflect the cost,” the company claimed.

Fresh Price Hikes by Car Companies

Before, Hyundai Nishat Motors, Kia Lucky Motors and Toyota Pakistan have increased their car prices. Both companies have mentioned the same reasons behind these hikes. These latest increases will surely impact the buying power of the masses as the car rates have increased repeatedly in last couple of years.

These hikes are aftershocks of COVID-19 as the shipments costs and material prices are soaring at global level. Along with Pakistan, the international car market is phasing through tough times. We hope that situation will settle soon and the prices will come down or at least become stable for a longer period of time.

Meanwhile, Pakistani government needs to control the continuous devaluation of Pakistani rupee against the US dollar because without controlling it, the prices will keep on increasing.
