A few years ago, Faizan paid a visit to one of London’s most talked-about exotic car dealerships, GVE. This time around, the trip carried a different kind of weight: GVE filed for bankruptcy last year and has since dissolved, so this revisit doubles as a farewell walk through a showroom that, for a while, was one of the best places in the world to window-shop for a supercar.
A Walk Through GVE’s Legendary Showroom Floor
True to form, the showroom floor was stacked with the kind of metal that made GVE a destination in the first place. Faizan’s walk-through camera caught, among others:
- A G-Wagon, alongside the usual Ferrari and Lamborghini regulars
- A BMW 850i
- A six-wheeler Land Rover-based truck conversion
- A classic Ford Mustang from what he calls “perhaps the best generation”
- A McLaren Senna look-alike custom build
- Several Porsches, mostly GT3 and GT3 RS variants, including a few with roof-mounted turbo intakes and at least one finished in purple
- A Mercedes-Benz SL “Pagoda” (W113)
- A Noble M600 — described on camera as “fast and unreliable”
- A widebody Ferrari 360 Stradale
- A second six-wheeler G-Wagon build
On the customization side, the team also got a look at a body kit program the showroom was running with an American partner, sponsoring GVE’s customization work on cars passing through.
A Ferrari 488 Delivery, Live
The visit happened to overlap with a real customer handover, a couple picking up their brand-new Ferrari 488, with the full GVE delivery treatment: a crowd, cameras, and the kind of fanfare that made buying a car from GVE an event in itself.
The Ones That Stood Out
A few cars pulled focus even in a room full of exotics. One boxy, hypercar-shaped machine looked nothing like the Ferraris and Lamborghinis around it. There was also a replica Shelby Cobra, which Faizan notes can fetch around $1 million at auction for the real thing. And the conversation turned briefly to the Lexus LFA, Toyota’s first real hypercar effort, often knocked for not matching the build quality of its German rivals, but still, in his view, a serious first swing at the segment.
“As I marveled at the cars, I also wondered , was all this pursuit of wealth making a better world? Forgive me, I also think about these things.”
End of an Era
The video closes the way any good farewell should, with a thank-you to GVE for the hospitality over the years, and a reminder of what the showroom used to be before it shut its doors. It’s a rare kind of PakWheels video: less about specs and prices, more about saying goodbye to a place that shaped a lot of car dreams.
