Int’l Cholistan Desert Rally 2024 Starts Today – The Schedule
The 19th International Cholistan Desert Rally 2024 is starting today. The biggest desert race in South Asia, presented by Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP), will continue till February 25, 2024 (Sunday). During these six days, different events, ceremonies, and races will be held. Here is the detailed schedule of the rally:
- The inauguration ceremony is going to be held at Noor Mahal Bahawalpur tonight, where a cultural performance was presented along with the unveiling of the trophy.
- Tomorrow on February 21, registration, technical inspection, medical examinations, driver’s conference, and draws will be held at TDCP Resort.
- On February 22, qualifying rounds of all categories will be held adjacent to Dilwash Stadium in Cholistan.
- On Friday, the first rounds of the Prepared Category race for men and women will be held on the trek from Dilwash Stadium to Jamgarh Fort.
- Saturday will be the day of the Stock Men and Women Category and quad bike race on the trek from Dilwash Stadium to Bhijnot Fort. The day will be concluded with a cultural night and fireworks at Dilwash Stadium.
- On the final day on February 25, the second round of the Prepared Men and Women Category and dirt bike and truck race will be held from Dilwash Stadium to Bhijnot Fort. Last but not least, the prize distribution ceremony will be held on the same day at TDCP Derawar Resort.
Cholistan Desert Rally 2023
Last year, over 500 drivers, including foreigners, took part in the race, completing 500 kilometer-long track. Faisal Shadikhel emerged as the Prepared A Category previous year; meanwhile, Rashida Sultan was declared winner of the Women Prepared Category. Like the last many years, this year’s rally is also expected to be exciting and entertaining as veteran, new, and foreign drivers will display their skills in the desert.
