Islamabad’s Rs. 10 billion Park Road infrastructure project has reached an important stage. The underpass portion is expected to be completed in July 2026, while the remaining work is targeted for August.
The update was shared in the Senate by Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhry. He said work on the project began in March and is progressing as scheduled. The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Defense Housing Authority and the Frontier Works Organization.
For commuters, this is an important update. Park Road has become one of Islamabad’s busier corridors in recent years. Growth in nearby housing societies, schools, and commercial areas has increased traffic pressure, especially during peak hours.
What the Project Includes
The Park Road project includes an underpass, overhead infrastructure, service roads, and other road improvements.
It is designed to improve traffic flow between Park Road, Margalla Avenue, Banigala, Rawal Town, Shahzad Town, and nearby residential areas.
The underpass is the first major part of the project and is expected to be completed by July. The remaining road works, including service roads and related infrastructure, are expected to be completed in August.
