JAECOO J8 PHEV Spotted in Pakistan: Expected Price and Key Features
Images circulating online appear to show the JAECOO J8 PHEV in Pakistan, suggesting NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group, could be preparing to introduce the flagship plug-in hybrid SUV locally.
Here are the circulating pictures:
The company has not confirmed anything yet, but based on the international market, there is enough information to get a picture of where it could fit in Pakistan’s market.
Global Rollout
The JAECOO J8 first appeared in markets such as Australia and Malaysia in a petrol turbo variant in 2025. The company is now gradually expanding the lineup with the plug-in hybrid version, which is already available in Indonesia
In markets like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Europe, and Australia, the J8 PHEV is either available for booking or just unveiled, but hasn’t officially launched yet.
That makes the reported sighting in Pakistan notable. It means Pakistan may become one of the first markets to receive the J8 PHEV, rather than following the delayed-launch pattern often seen in the local auto industry.
The Chery Link
There is also a Chery connection behind this model. In China, the Jaecoo brand operates under the Chery Group umbrella, and several of its products are closely related to Chery vehicles.
The same applies to the Jaecoo J8 PHEV. Beneath its bodywork, it shares its underlying architecture with the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV. Both SUVs are built on Chery’s T1X platform and use the same plug-in hybrid system family.

The difference lies mainly in positioning and design. The Tiggo 9 is aimed more at family-oriented urban buyers, while the Jaecoo J8 adopts a more rugged, adventure-focused exterior styling. In terms of engineering, however, the two models share the same core platform and hybrid technology.
What Kind of SUV is it?
The JAECOO J8 PHEV is a flagship D-segment SUV aimed at buyers looking for a German-level luxury mid-size SUV with generous cabin space and a long list of hi-tech features.
With a 2,820 mm wheelbase, it is among the longest-wheelbase vehicles in its segment. It is also 10 mm longer in wheelbase than the Tiggo 9 PHEV, which is already one of the longest-wheelbase SUVs currently on sale in Pakistan.
The vehicle is a seven-seater with a 2+3+2 seating layout. In terms of equipment and packaging, the J8 PHEV is expected to offer nearly all of the major features found in the Tiggo 9, given the close relationship between the two products.
In Pakistan, the main distinction comes down to brand handling. Chery, including the Tiggo lineup, is managed by Master Group, while JAECOO is being introduced by NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group.
